WOW! Collin Morikawa was electric in the first Major of the season and the first since the Covid-19 interruption. The 23 year old in just his second PGA Tour season wins his first Major championship and will make a huge jump in the Fedex Cup standings. This was only his second Major championship appearance and first PGA Championship appearance. This will be his 3rd win and he has only missed 1 cut so far in his career! He led the field this week in 3 different categories including putting, strokes gained approach, and tee to green. Coming down the stretch Morikawa made great shot after great shot to beat out the likes of Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, Tony Finau, and Paul Casey. Morikawa never slowed down, holing out for birdie on 14 and then hitting one of the greatest tee shots in PGA Championship history on 16 to set up an eagle putt that essentially locked in the W.
Heading into the week, we predicted Morikawa would have a great week and if you listened it paid out tremendously. With the Fedex Cup playoffs just two weeks out, Collin Morikawa has set himself up nicely to have a shot at the $10,000,000 grand prize. With so many players at the top of their game right now the playoffs are setting up to be some of the best ever. Stick around for some pocket-filling picks in the coming weeks.
