It’s official, the Saints are marching! New Orleans was able to pull off the 27-24 victory over Teddy Bridgewater and the Panthers. We now sit at 4-2 and have the Bears up next on the schedule.

My Takeaways

The offense put together an incredible performance. Balanced in the rushing and passing game. We saw Drew Brees go 29/36 for 287 yards and 2 touchdowns. Add in 138 yards on the ground and you have a very balanced offense that picked up 12/14 3rd down conversions. That is extremely efficient, it’s hard to lose a game when you covert 85% of your 3rd downs. The game ball has to go to Marquez Callaway, the rookie receiver had 8 catches on 10 targets for 75 yards. The rookie stepped up in the absence of Michael Thomas and Emmanual Sanders.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the defense has to play better. Marcus Williams looks lost in the secondary and the defensive line couldn’t get pressure on Teddy. We are a SuperBowl caliber team, although the defense is not playing like it. We will be at home on the couch come February if they don’t clean up the mistakes. There is still plenty of time to get it going, in the meantime, the Saints are marching at 4-2. Who Dat?!
