State Farm Champions Classic: Big Easy Bets

Tonight is the night we have all been waiting for, the State Farm Champions Classic. Three top-10 teams will be featured in this tournament. You have the #8 ranked Michigan State Spartans taking on the #6 ranked Duke Blue Devils at 6:30 pm. Then you have the #7 Ranked Kansas Jayhawks taking on the #20 ranked Kentucky Wildcats. I’m going to give you my picks for both of these games and maybe a couple of others. In the last article, we went 2-1, although a few games I gave out on Twitter did not go our way. Currently, we sit at an even 4-4 and look to improve on that in the State Farm Champions Classic.

#8 Michigan State @ #6 Duke(-3.5) – 6:30 PM

Typically this is a neutral site game, but due to COVID, this game will be played at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Advantage Duke. I love Rocket Watts for the Spartans, although he is nursing a lower leg injury and is questionable to play. I feel you have to roll with Duke at home in this situation. True Freshmen DJ Steward and Jalen Johnson put on a show in their first game. If Matthew Hurt can continue to provide a threat from deep, I think the Blue Devils can win this one easily.

Pick: Duke -3.5

#7 Kansas vs. #20 Kentucky

Kansas played Gonzaga pretty close until the end where the Zags pulled away. Kentucky just got straight up beaten by Richmond. The Cats play solid defense but they are very stagnant on the offensive side of the ball. Brandon Boston Jr. is an incredible talent but they need more than just him. I’m going to take the Jayhawks in this spot.

Pick: Kansas -4.5
