Baseball immortality, that is where a certain White Sox pitcher will take his place. Last night Lucas Giolito tossed a no-hitter against the Pittsburgh Pirates, the first no-hitter in the shortened 2020 season. Giolito dominated the Pirates with 13 strikeouts and 30 swing-and-misses. It wasn’t until the 9th inning with two outs that Josh Bell his a damn rocket into right field to almost break up the no-no, luckily Adam Engle was there to save the day
This Is The 304th Time This Has Happened
Obviously, this is not as great of an achievement as the perfect game, but baseball has been played since 1869 and only 303 other guys have ever pitched a no-no. You have to give Giolito credit for turning his career around in the last two seasons, he is looking like someone you really don’t want to face come playoff time. The White Sox are rolling, one of the hottest teams in baseball right now. So last night Lucas Giolito tossed a no-hitter, anyone, who bet on there to be a no-no in the shortened season, cashed in at +170. The real question now is, will we see a perfect game?
