Leonard Fournette Released By Jacksonville

Former #4 overall pick Leonard Fournette has been released by Jacksonville. Adam Schefter broke the news earlier this morning that the Jaguars are deciding to move on from the New Orleans native. With one year left on his rookie deal, Fournette was set to make $4.17 million in base salary.

“We Couldn’t Get Anything, A Fifth, A Sixth, Anything. We Couldn’t Get Anything.” – Doug Marrone

Head coach Doug Marrone decided to throw salt in the wound on Fournette’s way out. The overweight fried bologna eating coach said they were unable to facilitate a trade for Fournette, nobody wanted him. I find this very hard to believe, nobody wanted a 25-year-old power back coming off of his most productive season? 1,152 rushing, 522 receiving yards, and three touchdowns aren’t enough to find a team to play for? Obviously the touchdowns were lacking, but Fournette is an all-world talent. The perfect mixture of raw power and speed on top of the ability to catch out of the backfield. Leonard Fournette was released by Jacksonville, but it won’t be long before we see him picked up by another team.
