There has been a whirlwind of misinformation in the last 24-48 hours. The best way to sum it up is college football chaos. It was reported that the B1G 10 held a vote on whether or not to play the 2020 season. News broke that the schools voted 12-2 in favor of canceling the season, with Iowa and Nebraska being the only two who wanted to play.
It Was All A Lie?
After the news broke, almost all of the big name schools said they were never informed of a vote. Head coach Jim Harbaugh was very outspoken that Michigan plans to play football this season. As did Ohio State head coach, Ryan Day. This is a very bad look for B1G 10 commissioner, Kevin Warren, who has been the direct cause of this college football chaos. There appears to be an extreme lack of solidarity throughout the conference and that starts at the top.
What Happens Next?
All of the power five conferences are holding meetings today at 10:30am. Many of the schools in the B1G 10 have already stated they plan to play in a different conference if necessary. Although the ACC has stated they will move forward as planned no matter what the other conferences decide to do. SEC commissioner Greg Sankey has already said that the medical advisory team has cleared the conference to move forward. Meaning there will be SEC and ACC football this year. This is the most confident I have felt in months.
