College Basketball Sunday

Rise and shine, it’s Sunday. We are gearing up for a very strange Saints game, and while Sunday is for football, today is also a college basketball Sunday. As I said in the last article, I am dipping my toes into this college basketball betting season, as opposed to just diving headfirst. We currently sit at 2-1 on the season and my biggest takeaway so far, Gonzaga is by far the best team in the country. I have three picks today, so let’s get to it.

Richmond @ #10 Kentucky(-7) – 12:00pm

It is still early, I haven’t gotten a great look at Kentucky this year, but I do like the freshman Brandon Boston Jr. The Cats are starting four freshmen this year which is to be expected for a team that constantly reloads. Their guards are long and play good defense. We will roll with the Cats at home in Rupp Arena today.

Pick: Kentucky -7

#14 Texas Tech @ #17 Houston(+3)

Texas Tech has looked very good to start the season. Leading that charge is the Georgetown transfer and former YouTube sensation, Mac McClung. McClung is averaging 19 points a game while shooting 62% from the field. On the flip side Houston is coming off of a 23-8 season and they are returning four guards who have a ton of experience. The main two being Caleb Mills and former 5 star Kansas recruit Quentin Grimes. Houston is relentless on the boards and I don’t think that McClung, who shot under 30% from deep last season, will be able to keep up his hot start.

Pick: Houston +3

#2 Baylor @ Washington(+11)

You could make a legitimate argument that Baylor is the best team in the country. Although Washington has never lost to Baylor. That is about to change this year. The guard play for Baylor will be too much for Washington.

Pick: Baylor -11
