The 2020 PGA Championship at TPC Harding Park sets the stage for Brooks Koepka to repeat almost 100 year history. Walter Hagen, playing with wooden sticks and wiffle balls, won the PGA Championship 4 consecutive years beginning in 1924. Koepka now has an opportunity to be only the second player in history to win the PGA Championship in 3 consecutive years. However, this isn’t 1924 and it is going to be a lot easier said than done.

Who Will Win?

Just like any Major tournament in golf, the field this week is filled with all of the best players in the world. Great players show up for the big events and I expect that to happen this week. First off, we have to talk about Tiger. This is only his second start since the bat virus and normally that would eliminate any normal player. Tiger is not normal! Tiger prepares for the majors better than any other golfer in the world and he is accustomed to extended absences between tournament appearances. 2020 has already been crazy, why can’t Tiger win another one?

With that said, we cannot ignore the players who have been lighting up the scoreboards over the past couple of months. Those players are World Number 1 Justin Thomas, Bryson Dechambeau, and Webb Simpson. These guys are all recent winners, and it is almost certain that they will come out and play well. Players like Koepka and John Rahm are both hitting their strides at the perfect time and could easily pull out a victory this week. Another player I particularly like this week is Rory Mcilroy. Mcilroy has struggled as of late but he has a “Tiger”-like ability to peak his game just in time for Major tournaments. Of all of these guys, I specifically am looking for Thomas, Simpson, or Mcilroy to pull out the victory.

Who Else?

I am going to stick with some of the players that I have betting on and have been performing well thus far this season. Daniel Berger has been one of my favorites week in and week out. I really like Berger this week. Next is Collin Morikawa, who just recently beat Justin Thomas in an epic playoff. His ball-striking is so good that he just cannot play badly!

Gary Woodland is another guy that is high on my radar this week. His composure under pressure is elite and much needed to win a Major. Look for Woodland to be consistent all week and be right in contention come Sunday. Lastly, is Jordan Spieth. This one is controversial to say the least, but Spieth is also a player that knows how to peak his game just in time for the Majors. Spieth needs to win the PGA Championship to become the 6th player to complete the career slam. I expect Spieth to be fully focused this week, I don’t how his driver feels though.
